Election Day Success 2015

November 10, 2015

Partnering with jurisdictions for a successful Election Day 2015

Every Election Day, Election Systems & Software proudly supports customers as they implement our voting technology with the aim of improving the voter experience, culminating in a successful Election Night. November’s 2015 General Elections were no exception.

ES&S and these dedicated, hard-working clients worked hand in hand to implement cutting-edge technologies designed to provide better elections, every day.

Jefferson and Teller Counties, Colorado

As part of a statewide pilot program created in part by Secretary of State Wayne Williams, both Jefferson and Teller Counties implemented ES&S technology during the General Election. Both counties piloted the ExpressVote Universal Voting System with success. Jefferson County processed around 185,467 ballots with the DS200 as a Vote Center Polling Station and the DS850 central scanner & tabulator by the end of Election Night. Teller County tabulated about 6,571 ballots, utilizing the DS200 as a central scanner & tabulator.

The pilot process went well with both counties left with positive outcomes.

“We’re proud to have had the opportunity to team up with ES&S, a long time partner of the Jefferson County Elections Division, for the UVS pilot project. The level of support we received from ES&S was a great benefit and made the transition to the pilot system very smooth.” -Carrie Kellogg, Director of Elections for Jefferson County.

“The whole pilot process has been enjoyable thanks to ES&S. They’ve provided superior support throughout the process and the equipment we used performed great …  I think it is a great fit for Colorado.” – Krystal Brown, County Clerk & Recorder, Teller County

Fairfax County, Virginia

Fairfax County, Virginia had a successful pilot of the ExpressPoll tablet this General Election.

College Park and the City of Rockville, Maryland

College Park had a successful first use of the DS200. The tabulators allowed College Park to report election results by 9:30 pm, an hour and a half sooner than results were reported last election.

Rockville also successful implemented ES&S equipment.

Missoula County, Montana

Montana’s second most-populous county implemented Electionware Results for the first time, modernizing the way their Election Night Results are reported.

The county loved the technology’s user friendly format, remarking

“Electionware Results improved our distribution of results by providing us a link we could share with candidates, media and on social media. Prior to election night, we shared this link with interested parties so they could access the results in real-time, which alleviated direct inquiries to me and staff on election night. “

Albemarle County, Virginia

Our Virginia partner, PrintElect supports General Elections as well. Albemarle implemented the DS200 for the first time, receiving support from PrintElect associates from the onset. The county particularly appreciated the extra set of hands PrintElect provided during Election Night, answering phone calls, checking incoming results, and ensuring they were posted for the media and into Albemarle’s database. Kudos to PrintElect for providing the excellent level of support our clients have come to expect.

“While our associates take pride in providing better elections, every day — Election Day is an especially important day to all. They have an opportunity to watch democracy in action and support our customers in a truly meaningful way.” – Kathy Rogers, Senior Vice President of Government Relations.
